Pre-flight Preparation
Before beginning the remote and flight controller flight test, ensure the battery is securely installed on the drone. At this stage, the propellers are intentionally left off for safety reasons. With the motors unlocked, check the motor direction by carefully running them without propellers to confirm they spin correctly. Once verified, install the propellers properly to complete the basic pre-flight safety and configuration steps.
Features of the Skydroid G20 Remote Controller
Powerful Processing
At the heart of the Skydroid G20 remote controller is Qualcomm’s latest 6nm processor, delivering robust performance for complex tasks such as high-definition video decoding, telemetry handling, and real-time flight control. The controller easily supports hardware decoding of H.264/H.265 formats and can handle 4K video streams effortlessly.
High-Brightness Display
Equipped with a 7-inch high-definition touchscreen, the G20 ensures excellent outdoor visibility and clarity, even in bright sunlight. The display enables clear viewing of real-time video feeds, map overlays, and flight telemetry data, supporting both casual and mission-critical operations.
Long Transmission Range
With an impressive control and video transmission range of up to 30 kilometers, the G20 supports long-range drone missions with reliable connection quality. The system automatically switches between 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz frequency bands to maintain optimal signal stability and anti-interference performance.
Features of the CUAV Pixhawk V6X Flight Controller
Advanced Processing Power
The CUAV V6X is a new-generation autopilot built on the Pixhawk FMU V6X standard, co-developed by CUAV and PX4. It features the STM32H753IIK6 H7 processor with a double-precision floating-point arithmetic unit (DSP & FPU) running at 480MHz, paired with 2MB Flash and 1MB RAM. A dedicated ARM® Cortex®-M3 coprocessor enhances security and expands external capabilities, enabling fast data processing and greater stability for complex UAV applications.
Triple-Redundant IMU & Dual Barometer for Safety
Designed for ultimate flight safety, the V6X integrates three low-noise automotive-grade IMUs and two redundant barometers on independent buses. In case of sensor failure, the system seamlessly switches to a backup, ensuring uninterrupted and secure flight operations.
High-Speed Communication with 100M Ethernet
An integrated 100M Ethernet PHY allows high-speed communication with mission computers, fiber-optic INS, and high-end aerial mapping cameras. This capability supports advanced payload integration and real-time data transfer for industrial UAV applications.
Flight Performance of Skydroid G20 Remote Controller and CUAV V6X Flight Controller
Clear and Smooth Video Transmission
Throughout the test, the G20’s low-latency digital link delivered consistently high-definition video. Even during fast maneuvers, the live image feed remained stable and fluid, ensuring excellent situational awareness.
Strong Anti-Interference Capability
In challenging environments with heavy Wi-Fi interference and dense metal structures, the G20’s automatic dual-band switching (2.4GHz / 5.8GHz) maintained stable control and uninterrupted video transmission. This ensured a reliable flight experience in industrial scenarios.
Precise and Stable Control
The high-performance algorithms of the V6X, combined with the G20’s low-latency data link, provided exceptional flight stability. Even under aggressive stick inputs, the aircraft maintained smooth, responsive, and predictable behavior.
Accurate Return-to-Home
Equipped with the NE03 Pro positioning module, the drone achieved precise Return-to-Home performance. A single command from the G20 remote allowed the aircraft to lock onto its takeoff point and return with minimal deviation.
