Ⅰ. Overview

(1) The YL50 Video Transmission Box, matched with the R30 receiver series, adopts advanced SDR technology and super protocol stacks, delivering clearer images, lower latency, longer transmission distance and stronger anti-interference performance. It is applicable to drones, robots, industrial control equipment etc.
(2) The R30 receiver is equipped with abundant interfaces including dual LAN ports, sensor interfaces, dual serial port transparent transmission and SBUS. It enables operation for aerial photography, security, fire protection, power inspection, surveying and mapping robots, border defense and other applications, delivering an immersive on-site experience.
(3) The YL50 Video Transmission Box is equipped with Dual-band antennas (1.4G, 2.4G) with mutual signal complementation and automatic switching, providing ultra-strong signal and ultra-long range. Its integrated algorithm control and out-of-step frequency hopping algorithm greatly improve the communication performance in weak signal environments.
(4) The YL50 Video Transmission Box Supports Type-C interface, RJ45 Ethernet port, SBUS/PPM input interface(GH1.25), XT60 interface, box antenna interface (SMA male thread with inner hole) and antenna rod end interface (SMA female thread with inner pin).
(5) The R30 features abundant interfaces including dual serial port transparent transmission, dual LAN ports and SBUS. It supports more video devices with LAN ports (144 network segment) such as cameras, gimbals and pods. Development kits, SDK and technical support are provided. It is compatible with mainstream open-source flight controller ground stations for PC including MP (MissionPlanner) and QGC (QGroundControl), as well as wireless RTSP video stream sharing.
(6) It’s made of industrial aluminum alloy, delivering an excellent hand feel, ensuring high repeatable precision and stability, and achieving efficient heat dissipation. This guarantees stable and smooth operation in harsh outdoor environments.

2. Applications

Connected with a separated remote controller to the video transmission box, it controls helicopters, fixed-wing UAVs, multi-rotors, vehicles and boats via receiver. It also supports video, image and data transmission when connected to a computer.
Note: YL50 is compatible exclusively with R30 receiver series, not other models.

E)The product shall be used in areas free of explosive mediums. The surrounding medium shall not contain gas and conductive mediums that corrode metals or damage insulation, nor shall it be filled with water vapor or severe mold.
F)Operating occasions should have facilities which can prevent rain, snow, wind, sand and dust. The shell of this product will generate heat during operation, which is normal. Do not use the product in a closed and poorly ventilated environment. If necessary, fan can be used for forced air cooling to assist heat dissipation.

7. Safety

Warnings:
Beginners need to pay attention to below safety precautions! Please read carefully!
Do NOT fly when fatigued, intoxicated or in poor physical condition!
Do NOT fly in adverse weather such as rain or strong wind!
Do NOT fly near high-voltage lines, communication base stations, crowded areas or places with human activities!
Do NOT fly at airports and other officially designated no-fly zones!
Do NOT operate drones in crowded areas, parking lots or other areas where property damage or personal injury may be caused. Prior to flight, conduct equipment inspection of the drones and check whether the transceiver system and drones are in normal condition.
The SBUS/PPM input interface is a GH1.25 connector with a buckle safety lock function. During daily use, it will inevitably be affected by environmental humidity, dust, haze and other factors. To prevent wear ans tear, frequent plugging and unplugging of this connector should be avoided as much as possible.
The antenna of this product is a fragile component; excessive force shall be avoided to prevent damage.

8. Working mode

The ground unit of YL50 Video Transmission Box and the air unit of R30 can be powered by DC power supply or lithium battery with the voltage range of 7.2-80V (2S-18S).
The ground unit of YL50 Video Transmission Box and the air unit of R30 are wireless connection.
Do NOT use in the environment with temperature exceeding 55°C.

Ⅱ. Operation & Usage

1. Pre-use Preparation & Inspection

Notes:
(1) Ensure sufficient power of the power supply or battery before use.
(2 )Users shall ensure that they do not operate the product while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
(3) Check the antenna if is positioned as required before use for optimal performance.

2. Installation Method

(1) Screw the antenna directly onto the SMA port of the video transmission box as shown in the pic below.

(2) Connection Diagram of Video Transmission Box with Remote Controller and Computer (Optional Remote Controllers: H12PRO(Reverse the RT wiring of the standard PPM cable), H16, H30,G30, etc.

(3) Screw holes (Unified National Coarse Thread1/4-20) on the bottom of the video transmission box allow for tripod mounting.

Correct Operation:
Antenna Upward

Incorrect Operation:
Do NOT place sideways, flat or upside down.

The antenna shall not be shielded. For example, when using the video transmission box indoors to connect to an outdoor UAV for long-distance flight.

Correct Operation:
Receiver Antenna Installation: Keep away from the main board, mount vertically upward and ensure no obstruction.

Mount under the arm of the aircraft

Incorrect Operation:
Do NOT place it inside the main board.

Do NOT place it close to carbon fiber or metal materials.

Do NOT cross the antennas or place them between the main board and the water bottle.

3. Operating Method

Frequency Pairing Operations:
①Power on the video transmission box and receiver separately with DC 7.2-80V (2S-18S); the power indicator will stay steadily red. And wait for 20 seconds, press and hold the SET pairing button on the receiver until the blue indicator flashes, then release the button.

②Press and hold the button on the YL50 Video Transmission Box for 3 seconds to enter frequency pairing mode, with the green indicator flashing. Wait for successful pairing (i.e., the pairing indicators of both the receiver and the YL50 Video Transmission Box turn to steady green).

Band Switching
The video transmission box supports flexible band combination settings (subject to local relevant regulations).
Press the SET pairing button briefly to enter the band selection mode, where the corresponding band indicator will flash slowly. The band will be automatically confirmed if no button is pressed within 2 seconds;
Single Mode: LAN1-> LAN2 (1.4G) -> LAN3 (2.4G) (indicators flash sequentially);
Tri-Mode: LAN1 LAN2 (1.4G)  LAN3 (2.4G) (all indicators flash simultaneously);
Dual Mode: LAN1 LAN3 (2.4G) (indicators of these two bands flash simultaneously).

4. Control

Video Transmission Box Wiring
Use the standard-equipped audio cable to connect the video transmission box to the remote controller for control. (Standard cable length: 1 meter; maximum supported cable length: 3-5 meters)

Note: The remote controller is sold separately. Any model supporting SBUS/PPM output is compatible, including H12PRO(Reverse the RT wiring of the standard PPM cable), H16, H30, G30, etc.

5. Video Transmission & Data Transmission

(2) Open Computer Settings → Select Network Adapter → Select Ethernet → Select IPv4 Protocol → Set Custom IP → Enter as shown in the pic → Click Confirm (see pic below)

The network segment of the Ethernet camera must be set to the 144 network segment (192.168.144.XXX) in advance. Connect the camera to Ethernet Port 0 or Port 1 of the receiver. For the pin definition, refer to the section “1. Overview -> 5. Port Definition Diagram” in this document.
Wiring Diagram for R30 Receiver to Gimbal: (The R30 receiver is compatible with the same connecting cable as the S1PRO. The cable must be ordered together with the package.)

Displaying Video Transmission on QGC (Computer Side)
(1) Click and select General;
(2) Open Source and select RTSP Video Stream;
(3) Enter the RTSP address of the Ethernet camera in the RTSP URL field.
RTSP Address for C10PRO/LAN Three-Body Image (C10PRO connection required): rtsp://192.168.144.108:554/stream=0。
RTSP Addresses for C12 Dual-Light Camera:

rtsp://192.168.144.108:555/stream=2
RTSP Address for C20 Camera: rtsp://192.168.144.108:554/main
For third-party cameras, enter the corresponding RTSP pull stream address of the camera in the field below.
Note: The camera network segment must be set to the 144 network segment. For installing a third-party Ethernet pod camera, you need to obtain the RTSP address from the camera manufacturer and set the camera to the 144 network segment. After configuring the RTSP address, the video transmission feed can be viewed.

Displaying Video Transmission on VLC (Computer Side)
Note: Only one of the two software programs (QGC or VLC) is required for video transmission playback.
Connect the Ethernet cable as instructed above.
Download the VLC software on your computer (Download link: https://www.videolan.org).

Open VLC this software and set a static Ethernet IP address.

(1) Launch the VLC media playeer on your computer, go to the Media menu and select Open Network Stream.

(2) In the Network URL input field, enter rtsp://192.168.144.108:554/stream=0.
For third-party cameras that only support stream pulling, configure the custom settings first, then enter the corresponding RTSP pull stream address of the camera in the field below.

Note: Camera network segment must be set to 144 network segment.

(3) Click Play

(4) Confirm successful video transmission connection.

Data Transmission
For SKYDROID S2 Flight Controller and flight controllers running the open-source ARDUPILOT firmware, connect the data transmission cable to UART 0 or UART 1, and connect the SBUS cable to the SBUS input port of the flight controller.

For third-party flight controllers, refer to the corresponding flight controller manual for connection instructions.
(3) Open the Mission Planner ground station software on your computer and select UDP as the connection method.

(4) Click Connect, enter 14550 in the UART 0 port number field, and click OK to complete the connection.

If receiver uses UART 1, enter 14551 as the port number.

Note: If the connection fails, check and reverse the wiring of the data transmission cable between the receiver and the flight controller: connect the RX pin of the receiver to the TX pin of the flight controller, the TX pin of the receiver to the RX pin of the flight controller, and connect the GND pins together. The default baud rate of the receiver is 115200 for both UART 0 AND UART 1. For the baud rate setting of the data transmission port on the flight controller, consult the flight controller technical support ans sei it to 115200.

You can enter ping 192.168.144.101 in the Command Prompt to check if the connection is successful. Ensure that the computer firewall is disabled.

Connecting Data Transmission via QGC
Launch the QGC software: 1) Click the top-left corner 2) Click Application Settings in the pop-up window.

(4) Click Comm Links.

① Enter a custom name for the connection.
② Select the Auto-connect on startup.
③ Type (Connection Method): Open the drop-down menu and select UDP.
④ Port:Set it to 14550 (for receiver connected to the flight controller via UART 0).

⑤ Under Server Addresses, enter the data transmission IP address in the input box: 192.168.144.101.
⑥ Click Add Server.
⑦ Click Confirm.

If the receiver is connected to the flight controller via UART 1,set the Port to 14551.

Note:If the connection fails, check and reverse the wiring of the data transmission cable between the receiver and the flight controller: connect the RX pin of the receiver to the TX pin of the flight controller, the TX pin of the receiver to the RX pin of the flight controller, and connect the GND pins together.The default baud rate of the receiver is 115200 for both UART 0 and UART 1. Consult the flight controller technical support to confirm the baud rate of the data transmission port on the flight controller, and set it to 115200.

You can enter ping 192.168.144.101 in the Command Prompt to verify network connectivity. Make sure that thecomputer firewall is disabled.

6. Common Problems & Solutions

(1) How to obtain RTSP Address of a third-party LAN camera?
The network segment of the Ethernet camera must be configured to the 144 network segment in advance (IP: 192.168.144.XXX, Gateway: 192.168.144.1). Connect the camera to Ethernet Port 0 or Port 1 of the receiver. For the pin definition, refer to the section 1. Overview -> 5. Port Definition Diagram in this document. You can first connect the Ethernet camera to a computer, and use VLC media player on the computer to pull the stream via an RTSP address in the 144 network segment. Note: This RTSP address needs to be obtained from the camera manufacturer. After confirming the stream can be pulled successfully, connect the camera to the receiver. Open VLC on the computer, enter the RTSP based pull stream address and test whether the video can be played normally.

(2) Failed to share video transmission stream?
Kindly verify that the network cable is securely connected to the video transmission box, the Ethernet is set with a static IP in the 144 network segment, and the RTSP address on the computer is correct.
