Firmware upgrade tutorial for Remote Control G20 and G12 series

This video provides a detailed step-by-step guide on how to upgrade the firmware of the remote control G20 and G12 series remote controllers. Required Tools

Before starting the upgrade, ensure you have the following items prepared:

  1. G20 or G12 remote control (fully charged)
  2. Compatible receiver (connected to power)
  3. USB data cable
  4. A Windows computer
  5. Firmware upgrade package (see download link in the resources section)
  6. Tweezers (for binding operation)

Firmware Upgrade Process

1. Online Upgrade Using the Remote Control
  1. Power on the receiver.
  2. On the remote control, open the Tool Assistant application.
  3. Go to Advanced Settings and enter the password: 999.
  4. Click Update Device to enter the receiver update interface.
    Note: The receiver must be updated first or it cannot connect.
  5. Click Check for Updates, then click Update.
  6. After the receiver update is complete, repeat the same steps to update the remote control: Enter the remote control update interface, then click Check for Updates, then click Update.
2. Performing OTA Upgrade

On the remote control, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the dropdown menu.

  1. Tap the USB notification and select Charging this device via USB.
  2. Change the USB option to File Transfer.
  3. Go to Settings > scroll to the bottom > tap About Phone.
  4. Quickly tap Serial Number three times to enter the System Application Upgrade Interface.

On the computer:

  1. Download and unzip the firmware package (see video or support section for the link).
  2. Copy the following two files into the remote control’s internal storage path:
    File Management/configs/ota_package/update_config.json (theconfigs folder only appears after entering the system upgrade interface.)
  3. Back on the remote control:
  4. In the upgrade interface, tap Reload, then tap Apply, then OK.
  5. Wait for the progress bar to complete (approximately 30 minutes).
  6. When finished, tap Switch Partition.
  7. If the upgrade status shows REBOOT_REQUIRED/5, restart the remote control.
3. Frequency binding after the OTA upgrade
  1. Power on the receiver.Use tweezers to press and hold the SET button on the receiver.
  2. Open the Tool Assistant application on the remote control.Navigate to the Frequency Binding interface.
  3. Tap Start Binding, then confirm by tapping OK.
  4. Once the status displays Connected, the binding is successful.
