Ⅰ. Overview

1. Product Features

(1) The G30 series adopts a Qualcomm 6nm processor and is equipped with an Android 14 (64-bit) embedded system, ensuring smooth operation and an open ecosystem that supports the installation of most apps available on the market. It uses an all-new high-power, high-bandwidth 2.4/5.8G dual-band wireless module, supporting automatic frequency hopping and MCS autonomous dynamic adjustment, with an image & data transmission range of up to 30km.

(2) The G30 is equipped with a rich set of interfaces, including optical fiber interface, Type-C interface, SIM card slot, RJ45 Ethernet port, PPM interface, and USB-A (upgrade interface); the GR03 features dual serial port transparent transmission, dual Ethernet ports, SBUS, PWM interface, and audio output interface. It provides an SDK development kit, supports video floating windows, and is compatible with ground stations of mainstream flight controllers. Made of meteorological silica gel, frosted rubber, stainless steel, and ABS, the product not only offers an excellent hand feel but also meets the harsh conditions of outdoor drone use. The G30 is equipped with dust-proof protection at the body, control switches, and all peripheral interfaces to ensure stable and smooth operation of the device in harsh environments.

(3) It features a 10.1-inch industrial touchscreen with a resolution of 1920*1200 and a sunlight-readable display. With an ultra-large screen-to-body ratio, real-time display information can still be clearly viewed even in direct sunlight.

(4) It uses a high-energy-density lithium-ion battery, which supports 6-8 hours of operation on a full charge. When using the standard charger and cable, it enables
PD 33W fast charging. The consistent “wilderness survival” design philosophy ensures you have no worries about the device’s reliability.

(5) It supports optical fiber wired communication, allowing free switching between wireless and wired signals. Optical fiber communication offers ultra-large bandwidth, ultra-low latency, and extremely strong anti-interference capability, making it adaptable to complex and harsh environments, along with high security and ultra-long transmission distance. It also has a built-in speaker and Wi-Fi 2.4/5G.

2. Main Uses and Scope of Application

The G30 is suitable for video image transmission (a camera is required as an optional accessory), data transmission, and control of unmanned devices such as helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, multi-rotor drones, vehicles, and ships.

3. Operating Environment Conditions

Caution:
a)Ambient temperature: -10°C ~ 55°C.

b)Storage temperature: -20°C ~ 50°C.

c)Relative humidity: Not to exceed 85%.

d)Atmospheric pressure: 86kPa ~ 106kPa.

e)The use location must be free of explosive media. The surrounding media shall not contain gases or conductive substances that corrode metals, damage insulation, or be filled with water vapor or severe mold.

f) The use location shall be equipped with facilities to protect against rain, snow, wind, sand, and dust.

Warning: Direct sunlight on the product is not allowed during use.

4. Working Conditions

Power Supply Method and Precautions:

The G30 series ground station is equipped with a built-in integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery and is compatible with standard Type-C interfaces on the market. Please use the original charger for charging.

If smoke, unusual odor, or liquid leakage occurs while charging the ground station, do not continue charging the remote controller and please send it to our company for repair.

Do not charge this product in areas accessible to infants to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Do not charge this product in an environment where the temperature exceeds 60°C

Ⅲ.Prepare remote controller

1. Remote Control Charging

It takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to fully charge using the original charger.

Please charge using the original charger. To maintain the remote control battery in optimal condition, ensure the battery is fully charged once a month.

IV. Usage and Operation

1. Remote Control Power On and Off

Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the remote control. To turn it off, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds, then tap the screen.

Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to access the app interface.

3. Adjusting Brightness

Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Control Center, then drag the slider to adjust the screen brightness.

4. Adjusting Volume

Access the app interface, tap “Settings”, locate the “Sound” option, then drag the slider to adjust the volume.

5. Language Settings

Tap “Settings”, select “System”, tap “Language”, select “System Language”, select “Add Language”, and after adding the desired language, drag it to the top of the list to change the system language.

6. Transferring Files to/from a Computer

Connect the remote control to the computer using a Type-C cable, access the Control Center, tap “View More”, then select “Files Transfer”.

7. Introduction to Device Tool

The tool version needs to be updated to the latest version with an internet connection.

① Stick mode: The remote control’s hand configuration can be set; the default is the USA hand.

② Channel monitoring: The real-time servo travel values of each channel on the remote control can be viewed.

③ Frequency matching: The frequency matching status and frequency pairing information can be viewed.

④ Video Viewing: The camera feed can be viewed.
⑤ Advanced Options: Advanced settings for the remote control receiver can be configured (detailed description below).
⑥ Link Mode.
Wireless Mode:Enable the wireless connection between the remote control and the receiver. The upper right corner of the remote control displays the currently set link status: the icon of the wireless mode.

Optical Fiber Mode: Enables a wired connection between the remote control and the receiver via a fiber optic cable.

Note: The fiber optic interfaces of the remote control and the receiver need to be connected in advance. The frequency pairing blue light of the receiver will change
from steady on to intermittent blinking, and at the same time, the icon indicating the fiber optic connection status will be displayed in the upper right corner of the remote control.

If the optical fiber cable is unplugged or broken midway, the connection will automatically switch to wireless mode. The frequency matching blue light of the receiver will change from intermittent blinking to steady on, and at the same time, an icon indicating the disconnection of the optical fiber connection will be displayed in the upper right corner of the remote control.

8. Introduction to Device Tool - ⑤ Advanced Options (Password: 999)

① Adjust Parameters: Allows customization of button channels, setting of reverse directions, and modification of the maximum and minimum servo travel values.

②Set the Baud Rate: Modifies the baud rate of the receiver’s serial port.

③ Update Device
1. Upgrade Remote Control MCU Firmware: Upgrade the firmware of the remote control’s joystick MCU.
2. Upgrade Receiver Wireless Module: Wirelessly upgrade the RF firmware of the receiver (the receiver must be upgraded first; it can only be upgraded after being powered on and connected to the remote control).
3. Upgrade Remote Control Wireless Module: Upgrade the RF firmware of the remote control.
4. Upgrade Android Wireless Driver: Upgrade the wireless driver of the Android system.
5. Upgrade GR03 SOC: Upgrade the firmware of the GR03 SOC.
6. Optical Fiber MCU: Upgrade the firmware of the fiber optic MCU (the fiber optic interfaces of the remote control and receiver need to be connected in advance, and the mode switched to Optical Fiber Mode).

④Key Tone: Allows setting of keypad tones and long-press configurations for keys.
⑤Keylock Mode: Enables setting the lock or non-lock mode for keys (e.g., L1).
⑥ Power Save: Permits setting whether key settings are retained after a power outage.
⑦ Hybrid Control and Throttle Dead Zone: Allows setting of the hybrid control switch and throttle dead zone.
⑧ Acceleration Mode: Enables setting of upload mode (enabling upload mode affects range).
⑨ SN: Allows the remote control to view the SN (Serial Number).
⑩ Coach Mode: Permits setting of PPM output or coach controller mode.
⑪ Relay Mode: Enables setting of relay mode and a floating window.

Remote Control Frequency matching
Method 1:
① Power on the remote control and the receiver. After power-on, the blue light flashes intermittently; wait for 30 seconds.
② Press and hold the frequency matching button on the receiver until the blue light flashes rapidly, then release the button.
③ Open the Device Tool on the remote controller, tap “Frequency matching” → “Start matching”, and confirm the matching. For matching a single receiver, you can tap “Stop matching” and wait for the “Matching Successful” prompt to appear.
④ Once matching is successful, the receiver’s indicator light will remain steadily blue.

Method 2:
① Power the receiver on and off quickly 4 times(A 1-second interval between each power connection) On the 4th power-on, it will automatically enter the frequency matching mode, and the blue light will flash rapidly.
② Open the Device Tool on the remote controller, tap “Frequency matching” → “Start matching”, confirm the matching, and wait for the “Matching Successful” prompt to appear.
③ Once matching is successful, the receiver’s indicator light will remain steadily blue.

Note: Keep the distance between the remote controller and the receiver within 50 cm
during frequency matching.

9. Video and Data Transmission Connection

The network port is connected to Serial Port 0.

Wire the components as shown in the diagram above:

Connect the SBUS + Data Transmission interface of the receiver to the SBUS + Data Transmission interface of the flight controller.
Connect the Ethernet port of the receiver to the Ethernet port of the camera.
Note: For device power supply and other wiring connections, please refer to the corresponding instruction manual.

(1) Video Transmission

Taking the Skydroid C10Pro as an example:

Power on the camera and connect it to the receiver’s Ethernet port. Open the Gimbal FPV app, and you will be able to see the video transmission feed.

If using a third-party camera:
The camera’s network segment needs to be set to the 144 segment (192.168.144.XXX).

Open the Device Tool → select “Video Viewing” → tap the settings button at the bottom → go to “Video Stream Address” → select “Custom”, then enter the camera’s RTSP pull stream address.

Note: The RTSP address of the third-party camera needs to be obtained from the manufacturer.
If using the FLY GCS ground station software:

Navigate to “Common Settings” → “Other Settings” → “User Interface” → “Video Window” → select “C10”.

(2) Data Transmission
Taking Skydroid FLY GCS as an example: Enter the ground station, tap the top-left corner, and access the Switch connection interface.

Select the S2 + G20 combination, tap to enter, and click “Connect”.
Click the gear icon, select the connection method, choose the serial port through which the current flight controller is connected to the receiver, and then click to enter.

Note: If the connection fails, please check the following:

① Whether the baud rate of the receiver’s serial port is consistent with that of the flight controller’s data transmission port; (The baud rate of the S2 flight controller is 921600, which can be set in Assistant – Advanced – 999 – Baud Rate Settings);
② Whether the wiring definition of the data transmission is correct (RX connected to TX).

(3) Intercom Function

a.Switch to the Video page, tap the icon , and the following intercom settings will pop up.
b.Single Record: Use the remote controller’s built-in microphone for one-time voice transmission.
c.Loop Record: Use the remote controller’s built-in microphone for continuous looped voice transmission.
Note: To use the intercom function, speak with your mouth close to the remote controller’s microphone.
d.Select MP3: Use an MP3 file for intercom playback.
e.Text: Convert text to voice for intercom playback.
f.Start Play: Toggle between play and pause for playback.
g.SQ: Toggle the playback sound quality (options: Smooth Sound Quality / High-Definition Sound Quality).

10. How to Display Data Transmission and Video Transmission on the G30 Remote Controller’s QGroundControl Ground Station

Connect the data transmission cable of the open-source flight controller to the data transmission port of the receiver. Take the QGroundControl (QGC for short; current version: V4.4.3 64-bit) ground station as a reference for data transmission connection.QGC official website download link: http://qgroundcontrol.com

Note: The S2 flight controller can only be used with the Skydroid FLY ground station; do not connect it via QGC.

11.1 QGC Data Transmission Settings

(1) Click the Q icon in the top-left corner of QGC.

(2) In the pop-up window that appears, select “Application Settings”.

(3) Click “Comm Links”, then click “Add”.

(4) Data Transmission Settings:
① Under NAME, enter a custom name;
② Check the box for “Automatically connect on start”;
③ Click to expand the Type (connection method) dropdown and select UDP;
④ Set Port to 14551;
⑤ In the input box under Server Addresses, enter the data transmission IP address: 127.0.0.1:14552;
⑥ Click “Add Server” (to add the address);
⑦ Click “OK” to confirm.

⑧ Select the UDP connection named earlier;
⑨ Then click “Connect”.

(5) Establish a normal connection with the flight controller’s data link.

If the receiver uses Serial Port 1, you need to change the connection method to the one shown in the figure below.

11.2 QGC Image Transmission Settings

Take the G30 remote controller with QGC ground station as an example for reference to connect the C10pro camera for image transmission (the G30 Tool needs to be closed).The network port cable needs to be twisted-pair.

(1) Open QGC and click the Q icon in the upper left corner of QGC.

(2) In the pop-up window that appears, select Application Settings.

(3) Click General (General Settings).

(4) Change Source (Video Source) to RTSP Video Stream.

(5) Enter the RTSP address of the Ethernet camera in the RTSP URL field.

For C10PRO/Ethernet Triple-body camera (requires connection to C10PRO): RTSP address is rtsp://192.168.144.108:554/stream=0.
For C12 Dual-spectrum camera:
Stream 1: rtsp://192.168.144.108:554/stream=1
Stream 2: rtsp://192.168.144.108:555/stream=2
For C20 camera: RTSP address is rtsp://192.168.144.108:554/main.
For third-party cameras that only support stream pulling for display: After setting up the custom configuration, enter the corresponding RTSP stream-pulling address of the camera in the field below.

Note: The camera’s network segment must be set to the 144 segment (192.168.144.x).

(6) Check the Low-Latency Mode.
(7) Click the aircraft icon in the upper left corner and select “Back” to return to the flight page.

(8) Connect to the image transmission normally.

11. Using Hotspot to Share Data Link and Image Transmission

Note: This tutorial uses an open-source flight controller as an example. For third-party flight controllers, please consult the flight controller technical support to confirm compatibility with this connection method.

Steps to enable the remote controller’s hotspot:
(1) Method 1:
Open Settings -> Network & Internet -> Hotspot & Tethering -> WLAN Hotspot -> Enable “Use Wi-Fi Hotspot”, then connect your computer to the remote controller’s hotspot.

(2) Method 2:
Connect the computer’s Ethernet port to the remote controller’s RJ45 Ethernet port using an Ethernet cable. Then open Settings -> Network & Internet -> Hotspot & Tethering -> Enable “Ethernet Tethering”.

(3) Method 3:
Connect the computer’s TYPE-A port to the remote controller’s TYPE-C port using an A-to-C data cable. Then open Settings -> Network & Internet -> Hotspot & Tethering -> Enable “USB Tethering”.

12.1 Sharing Data Link

After successfully connecting via one of the three methods mentioned above, open Mission Planner and select TCP as the connection method.

After clicking “Connect”, enter the IP address 192.168.43.1, then click “OK” once the input is complete.

Enter the port number 5760 and click “OK” to connect to the data link.

Sharing Data Link: Connecting Data Link via QGC
Open the QGC software:
1.Click the Q icon in the upper left corner.
2.In the pop-up dialog box, select Application Settings.

4.Select Comm Links.
5.Click Add.
(1) Serial Port 0 TCP connection method: TCP 192.168.43.1 5760

(2) Serial Port 0 UDP connection method: UDP 14551 192.168.43.1:14552

(3) Serial Port 1 UDP connection method: UDP 13551 192.168.43.1:13552

12.2 Sharing Image Transmission

After successfully connecting via one of the three methods mentioned above, launch the VLC player on your computer. In the Media menu, select “Open Network Stream”, then enter the camera’s stream address as shown in the figure below to realize image transmission sharing.

Simply enter the camera’s RTSP stream-pulling address in the settings as follows.

Note: When using a third-party camera, you need to set the camera’s gateway to 192.168.144.11 to share the image transmission. Only one side (either the remote controller or the computer) should pull the stream—pulling the stream simultaneously from both sides will cause bandwidth congestion and result in image transmission lag.
